From May 6th to May 16th 2010, the Mapping Festival will take place in Geneva, Switzerland. The Mapping Festival promotes Vjing, its culture and its connection to contemporary cultures.

This year the festival offers a Pro Area, a place giving a chance to all professionals of the VJing and audiovisual areas to be represented. You wish to be present during the festival to meet the public, the media and the professionals ? The Mapping Festival offers you a solution to garanty the promotion of your products or activities. This exhibition area is exclusively reserved for Vjing, audiovisual and music professionals.

This show is for everybody and will propose every last technological development of the sector, providers, media, documentation as well as a bar.
You will also be able to use the common stage for your showcases and demonstrations.
It is the central meeting point and the window of Mapping Festival.

WHEN / WHERE ?
From May 13th to the 15th 2010, three days during the Mapping Festival at Uptown Geneva.

FOR WHO ? Every professional in connection with Vjing: technical providers, hardwares, softwares, Vjing community…

PUBLIC ?
Everybody who is connected with Vjing and live audiovisual: artists, VJs, architects, organizers, audiovisual professionals, Mapping’s public.

Deux choses à annoncer pour cette soirée :

1) Soirée VAGINA RUSH TOUR. Le point commun entre Ben Sharpa, rappeur sud africain, R;Zatz, collectif feministe lyonnais, K-the-I??? rappeur de Los Angeles et Bleubird, le sarcastique ? Une rencontre humaine et artistique opérée au sein de Jarring Effects. Tous ces artistes ont pris la route et viennent nous donner cette « vibe » sur scène avec interventions dans les sets de chacun !
K-the-I???, abstract hip-hop (US) : MC tout droit débarqué de Los Angeles, il fait cohabiter en live des basses abbyssales avec des sonorités digitales sur fond de hip hop abstrait et percutant.
Ben Sharpa, hip-hop, electro, rap (Afrique du Sud) : une figure incontournable du Hip Hop sud-africain et chaînon manquant entre Hip Hop US et Grime UK !
R;Zatz, Abstract hip-hop, motion picture (France) : collectif feministe composé de l’ingé(e) son de Jarring, Takeshi Yoshimono (guitare), Caro de la Tropa (violon), Mat batteur de Kaly Live Dub et Marilou au chant.
Bleubird, gospel hip-hop (US) : critique et souvent associé à la scène « anticon », il décrit le monde qui l’entoure et sa situation avec (auto)dérision. Du hip hop à la JXF comme on l’aime !

2) Soutien au Mapping Festival. Festival dédié au VJing et au travail de l’image en live. C’est à dire ? Par exemple les visuels qui défilent sur les écrans du Zoo lors des soirées clubbing… mais pas que, et loin de là. Ouvert à tous, le festival se veut pluridisciplinaire et présente toutes les disciplines utilisées par les VJs : vidéo, animation, motion design, architecture, musique et art vivant… Cette année le festival se déroule du 6 au 16 mai 2010 à Genève : au BAC, Théâtre du Grütli, de la Parfumerie, au Spoutnik et Zoo/Usine et à l’Uptown.

Du coup, la soirée sera animée visuellement par les VJs du Mapping en lien avec VAGINA RUSH TOUR.
Line up VJ : Lupin, Gertrude Tuning, Camille de Dieu, Ivy, Akinetik, Laloutre, Boris, Sigma6 et Azadeeh.
